Welcome
Hello and welcome to the first group out there that is bringing together DeviantARTists from the Upstate New York area! This is a place to keep up-to-date with events that are going on around here, and to meet people nearby. You will find plenty of new friends, and will get to have more of a social life to boot! Be sure to read through all the rules, and the guidelines for joining. We'd love to have you!

To Join
In order to join, there are a few things you must do. It's best if you do them in this order as well.

1. Read all the rules. (below)
2. Add us to your friends list/deviantwatch.
3. List us somewhere, signature or journal, with our icon.
Use : iconDeviant-Meet-NY : without the spaces.
4. Send us a note saying you'd like to join, and giving your location in New York.
THIS WILL NOT BE REVEALED.
We simply need to know so that we're aware of how close you are.
5. Wait for our response.

It's that simple!

Rules and Guidelines
These are some simple rules and guidelines you need to be aware of if you plan on joining this group. Read them, know them, love them.

1. Be kind to all members.
2. Don't complain about locations. We will be going all over the place. Some may be convient for you, others won't.
3. The upstate area we cover is anywhere within an hour of the Great Sacandaga Lake. This is in the town of Northville.
If you're not within an hour of this, then we recommend not joining.
4. All our meets will be located within an hour of the Great Sacandaga Lake. You shouldn't have to travel more than an hour to join us.
5. All meets will be held in public places for safety concerns.
6. If attending a meet, please make a name tag so that we can identify each other. Patterns are in our gallery.
7. Please have parental consent to join us if you are a minor.
8. Parents are welcome to join us.
9. You may be required to buy your own lunch. Be advised of this.
10. Some meets won't be official. These are ones that are listed simply as fellow member's events.
11. If you're going to be in a gallery, or at a public art event/literature recital, let us know in a note. We will list it in the upcoming events/meets section.

These are subject to change. Please look every-so-often to keep yourself updated on them. It is your responsibility.
